Franklin Street crossing project nears finish with new schedule
Westfield's Engineering Department released a schedule for the final stages of the Franklin Street Roadway and Crossing Improvements project, with paving set for Oct. 22-23 and striping the week of Oct. 26.
The City of Westfield announced Oct. 19 a schedule for the remaining work on the Franklin Street Roadway and Crossing Improvements project as the city's contractor nears completion.
According to the schedule, crews will make final adjustments to roadway structures and install curbing for islands on Monday, Oct. 19, and Tuesday, Oct. 20. On Wednesday, Oct. 21, workers will pour and install the islands and loam and seed the project area.
Final paving is scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 22, and Friday, Oct. 23. Roadway striping is set to follow during the week of Oct. 26.
The city noted the schedule is subject to change due to weather.
